About Cindy Hutchison's

teaching style inspired from:  The White Lotus Foundation's Ganga White and Tracey Rich, Anusara Yoga, Sienna Sherman, Amanda McMaine and many more.

 on the mat:

favorite pose : downward facing dog

blending mindfulness/meditation with engaged alignment.

Alignment, Action, Attitude

I use a slow flow framework, and enjoy deconstructing asana and rebuilding it with fresh awarenesses - therapeutic for your specific body.

The class container becomes the meditation.

I think of it as care of our physical and emotional selves in a loving way. On the Mat by emphasizing practicing presence, while strengthening our awareness and  focus to course correct aka refocus. Ultimately,  to take it off the mat and into our Everyday Lives that for me is Ordinary Magic.  Mindfulness is a practice, like a muscle, or a garden....it needs your attention.

I read Ordinary Magic by JOhn Wellwood 30 years ago.  A collection of thirty-five wide ranging essays written by well-known 'influencers' of late 90's.Spiritual teachers, therapists and creative artists...."showing how focused awareness can bring new richness to all aspects of one's life". I am re reading it now...and am inspired...pun) .......I like that they are short, and varied.....Many Paths: one truth LOVE

Breath awareness holds the potential to calm, your heart rate,  invigorate your ability to generate energy, to strengthen and tone your body and to stretch your body...... and your mind.

My favorite theme to weave into my teaching/class:

The Four Immeasurables of the Heart taken from the Buddhist Tradition

  • Joy
  • Compasion
  • Equanimity
  • Maitri, (Self ) Loving Kindness

Thank you to who's teaching have inspired me thus far. i

White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara Ganga White and Tracey Rich,

Anusara Yoga - John Friend, Sienna Sherman, Amanda Mc Maine,  The Feldenkrais Method, Mary Pafford,  Shiva Rae, Molly Fox, Barbara Benagh and every student in my class.  Thank you for inspiring me.

WHERE:

Mexico’s Maya Tulum Resort, a wellness destination like no other – a vortex of natural energy and wonder. Located 90 miles South of Cancun on the sparkling waters of the Mexican Riviera.

Maya Tulum has a beautiful large Yoga Studio is fully equipped with plenty of Manduka Yoga Mats, Blankets, Blocks, straps...YEAH! This thatched roof Studio has plenty of space to spread out, use the walls, open the windows! No need to bring your own mat or props unless.....you must.

Rooms: guests don’t stay in mere rooms, they stay in stand alone elegant cabañas. The Cabañas are appointed with over head fans,  air conditioning, WiFI throughout the resort, television and mini bars (for purchase) in all rooms.

Daily maid service and  sand paths throughout the  resort aadd to the ultimate beach front experience. Last year the lighting in the rooms was dim, I recommend you bring a Battery operated reading light, headlamp and flashlights.  We had two outages last year, although short lived they distributed the chill vibe.  This year I'm encouraging  being prepared.

Did I say 10 OCEAN FRONT rooms? (while they last)
